Purpose-built for Split-Screen and Bay Window VW Campers from the 1950s through 1979 (including compatible Brazilian models), the eDub 2026 kit is a direct-fit replacement.
Every major component — from the battery box to the electric drive unit — fits inside the existing engine bay, preserving the structure and layout of your classic VW. There’s no cutting, no welding, and no irreversible modification.
The result is a completely reversible conversion that feels factory-fitted, perfectly balanced and true to the original design.
Clean Power, Instant Torque and Real-World Range
The eDub Drive Unit runs at approximately 350 volts, producing up to 150 bhp and 285 Nm of torque instantly from zero rpm. It’s quiet, smooth and effortless — ideal for the relaxed, go-anywhere nature of a VW camper van.
Choose between two battery configurations:

Charging is fast and flexible. Use a standard home wallbox or rapid CCS fast charger to reach 80% in around 30–45 minutes. Type 2 (Europe) and Type 1 (US) charging compatibility means you can plug in almost anywhere.
Despite the added technology, the system only adds around 150 kg compared with the original engine and gearbox — roughly the weight of a passenger and some luggage.

What’s Inside the EDUB System
At the heart of the kit is the eDub Drive Unit — a combined electric motor, inverter and single-speed gearbox that fits perfectly in place of the original engine.
The battery box contains modular, liquid-cooled battery cells along with a smart battery management system (BMS), contactors and pressure-relief safety features. All high-voltage connectors and charge ports are located safely behind the rear bumper.
Thermal control keeps everything running efficiently in any climate, and the system can be serviced or removed without special bodywork or cutting.
Installation and Fitment
The eDub 2026 electric conversion kit bolts directly to the original VW mounting points, maintaining correct suspension geometry and balance. No structural cutting is needed.
