Daisy arrived at our headquarters in North Yorkshire, UK, having already undergone a significant restoration, including a new front suspension, a fresh paint job, and beautiful new interiors. However, the original petrol-powered engine proved to be unreliable, prompting the owners to seek a more dependable and enjoyable driving experience. This is where eDub Conversions stepped in, aiming to enhance Daisy's performance with our electric propulsion system.
eDub Battery Pack and Custom Features
The conversion of Daisy involves the installation of electric propulsion, a 62 kWh battery pack, and custom features such as heating, air conditioning, and a digital throttle pedal. This not only enhances the vehicle's performance but also aligns with the owner's desire for a more reliable and eco-friendly driving experience.
One of the standout features of the conversion is the addition of a green number plate, signifying Daisy's status as an electric propulsion vehicle. This not only serves as a visual identifier but also plays a crucial role in safety, particularly in emergency situations. The green number plate acts as an immediate signal to emergency services, ensuring that Daisy is recognised as a unique vehicle with specific power requirements.
Off-Grid Camping Setup
Furthermore, eDub Conversions has equipped Daisy with an off-grid camping setup, powered by a 400-volt battery and an inverter system that can convert it from 400 volts DC into 240 volts AC power. This allows for the operation of traditional household power appliances, making Daisy a fully off-grid camping experience.
In addition to the electric conversion, eDub Conversions has also implemented an independent rear suspension (IRS) system, enhancing the vehicle's driving dynamics and overall performance.
